At Why Not Nails Academy students learn hygiene protocols, cuticle and toenail preparation, safe skin processing, and Russian dry pedicure techniques using a pododisc system under instructor supervision.

Pedicure is one of the most consistently booked services in US salons — and one of the hardest to perform correctly. This course covers the techniques that separate a mediocre pedicure from one clients rebook every 3 weeks: safe skin processing, E-file heel work, and a clean structured workflow that protects both client and technician.

Note: This course focuses on Russian Dry Pedicure and is not a state licensing program. It is skill-specific training providing professional certification.

Theory — 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Students will learn:
- Foot and toenail anatomy
- Principles of the Russian dry pedicure

- Proper treatment of calluses and rough skin
- Professional foot care products
- Product recommendations for home care
- Retail opportunities and product recommendations for additional sales
- Choosing between gel polish and regular nail polish for pedicure services

Lunch Break — 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM

Live Model Training — Two Supervised Live-Model Sessions

Model 1 — 1:00 PM
Technique & Supervised Practice

Students perform a complete dry pedicure on one foot of a live model
under instructor supervision.

Training includes:
- Foot assessment
- Safe pododisc technique
- Heel treatment
- Toenail preparation
- Gel polish or regular polish application
- Individual instructor feedback and technique correction

Model 2 — 4:00 PM
Consistency, Efficiency & Individual Correction

Students perform the complete service on one foot of a second live model,
building consistency, confidence, and efficiency while receiving
individualized instructor guidance.
